Step 1 Protecting from ESD
 

Grounding protects the components from the static electricity that can be naturally present (electrostatic discharge, ESD).

 

  • Notice: Risk of damage to the equipment due to electrostatic discharge. Always: Touch the working surface before touching electronics.
 

  • Ideally: Use ESD protective equipment, such as ESD table mats and grounding cords.
Step 2 CM5, Cooler and SSD install
   

  • Install Compute Module 5 onto the Compute Module 5 IO board.
 

  • Install the Raspberry Pi cooler onto the Compute Module 5.
 
  • Install the M.2 NVMe SSDs on the underside of the IO board.
Step 3 Secure the IO baord (If installing inside the X15-C1 case for the X1500/X1501 IO board, proceed directly to step 7)
   

  • Place the IO Board into the base of the Case.
 

  • Align the four mounting holes.

 

  • Secure the IO board to the base with four M2.5 × 19 spacers (supplied).

   
Step 4 Connect the fan power cable
   

  • Orient the fan connector according to the reference photo.
 
  • Plug the fan power cable into the FAN connector on the IO Board.
   

 
Step 5 Secure the fan bracket baord
   

  • Position the fan bracket board atop the mounting spacers.
 

  • Align the four mounting holes.

 

  • Secure the fan bracket board to the spacers with four M2.5x5mm screws.

   
Step 6 Install the fan
   

  • Position the fan atop the mounting spacers on the fan bracket board.
 

  • Align the fan mounting holes.
 

  • Apply even pressure on all four corners until until you feel/hear all four mounting points click into place.
 
  • Secure the fan to the spacers with four M3x10mm screws. 
 
 
    Installed inside the X15-C1 case  
 
Step 7 Disassemble the case
   

 

  • Separate the top of the Case from the base by unscrewing the M3 screws located on both side panels.
   
   
Step 8 Secure the IO baord
   

  • Place the IO Board into the base of the Case.
 

  • Align the four mounting holes.

 

  • Secure the IO board to the base with four M2.5 × 19 spacers (supplied).

   
Step 9 Connect the fan power cable
   

  • Orient the fan connector according to the reference photo.
 
  • Plug the fan power cable into the FAN connector on the IO Board.
   

 
 
Step 10 Secure the fan bracket baord
   

  • Position the fan bracket board atop the mounting spacers.
 

  • Align the four mounting holes.

 

  • Secure the fan bracket board to the spacers with four M2.5x5mm screws.

   
Step 11 Install the fan
   

  • Position the fan atop the mounting spacers on the fan bracket board.
 

  • Align the fan mounting holes.
 

  • Apply even pressure on all four corners until until you feel/hear all four mounting points click into place.
 
  • Secure the fan to the spacers with four M3x10mm screws. 
Step 12 Assemble the case
   

  • Place the top of the case over the base and secure with four M3 × 4 screws.
